Each local is independently managed and operated, with varying expectations of its contestants and titleholders. local titleholders serve as ambassadors to their communities and leaders amongst their peers. there are a few exceptions to winning a local title in 2027: 1) a young woman may compete at the state level if she is the holder of a university, college, fair, festival, etc. title that does not have any type of advancement to a national competition, and 2) a young woman may compete at the state level as an at-large delegate. at-large applications are available here.
*Note: if you live in an area that does not have a LOCAL COMPETITION, YOU may COMPETE IN A NEIGHBORING COUNTY THAt does have one. Please review the eligibility document to determine where you are eligible to compete.
