A Mental Health Advocate Empowering Young People
Aria Christensen, Miss Oregon’s Teen 2026, is a passionate mental health advocate, accomplished competitive dancer, and future entrepreneur from Eugene, Oregon.
After being diagnosed with Bipolar II disorder at age 14, Aria made the courageous decision to use her experience to challenge stigma and empower other young people. She wants every person living with a mental health condition to understand that a diagnosis is only one part of their story. It does not define their worth, limit their potential, or determine their future.
Academic Achievement and Entrepreneurial Ambition
Aria graduated from Willamette High School with a 3.92 weighted GPA and will begin her freshman year at the University of Oregon. She plans to earn a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship and ultimately become a business owner.
As the oldest of five children, Aria has developed a strong sense of responsibility, leadership, and determination. She creates a new vision board every January to help turn her goals into action and believes success begins with having a clear vision for the future.
Beyond the Label: Breaking Bipolar Stigma
Aria’s Community Service Initiative, Beyond the Label: Breaking Bipolar Stigma, was inspired by her own mental health journey.
Diagnosed with Bipolar II disorder at 14, Aria understands how isolating labels and misconceptions can feel, particularly for teenagers who are still discovering who they are. Through honest conversations, education, advocacy, and fundraising, she works to replace judgment with greater understanding.
Aria has already transformed her advocacy into action. She raised more than $1,000 for the National Alliance on Mental Illness in just one week and plans to continue developing partnerships that expand mental health awareness and access to support.
Aria’s Year of Service as Miss Oregon’s Teen
During her year as Miss Oregon’s Teen 2026, Aria will use her voice and personal story to create more honest conversations about mental health throughout Oregon.
She will focus on:
Reducing the stigma surrounding bipolar disorder
Encouraging young people to seek help without shame
Challenging assumptions about people living with mental health conditions
Supporting organizations that provide mental health education and resources
Reminding young people that they are always more than a diagnosis
As Miss Oregon’s Teen, Aria will also represent the Miss Oregon Scholarship Program at schools, community celebrations, charitable events, service projects, and appearances across the state.
Strength, Gratitude, and #MissAmericaFit
Aria believes wellness includes caring for both the mind and body. She starts her mornings at 5:00 a.m. with a trip to the gym, building the physical strength and discipline required for her demanding dance and acrobatic training.
She also begins each day by writing in her gratitude journal. This combination of movement, reflection, and intentional goal-setting helps Aria remain grounded while working toward her goals.
Her approach to #MissAmericaFit reflects her belief that true wellness includes physical strength, emotional health, self-awareness, and the confidence to ask for support when it is needed.
An Acrobatic Dancer with Big Dreams
Aria has been a competitive dancer since age nine. For her performance talent, she presents an acrobatic dance routine to “Let Me Think About It.”
During the 2025–2026 season, Aria trained and performed with four dance teams while earning numerous awards for her solo performances. Her talent combines athleticism, flexibility, musicality, and dynamic stage presence.
Aria continues to pursue her goal of cheering at the collegiate level. Her ultimate performance dream is to become an NFL cheerleader for the Miami Dolphins.
Fun Facts and Fearless Energy
Aria is the oldest of five children and is usually both the first person in her family to go to bed and the first to wake up.
One of her favorite memories is a girls’ trip to Miami with her family. She has also conquered a glacier in Utah and has the scar to prove it!
Whether she is dancing, practicing acrobatics, working toward a new goal, or advocating for mental health, Aria brings grit, gratitude, energy, and determination to everything she does.
